Interview Process

Initial interviews
Following acceptance of your resume, you will be interviewed remotely to ensure that you understand the position and to detail what you can expect your life to be like as a consultant. We discuss the necessary rigors of travel, the challenges of striking an appropriate work/life balance, and the many rewards of the career. The second personal interview is conducted with a principal or senior manager within the firm to ascertain your initial fit with KT’s culture.

Panel interviews
If both you and KT decide to move forward with your candidacy, you will be asked to participate in panel interviews at one of our regional offices. This final step in the application process includes a series of panel interviews, case studies, and a presentation.

KT Business Consultants are known for their analytical and problem-solving skills, backed up by their experience in either operations, manufacturing or IT. As part of our continued commitment to deliver value to our customers and growing our business, we are looking to recruit Germany-based Consultants to join our European team.
This dynamic European role requires you to:
- Adapt to clients, confidently deliver training workshops, coaching and consulting projects, and demonstrate teamwork, autonomy and initiative in a wide range of situations
- Support growth by developing new business with existing clients as well as in selling to your own client base
- Be flexible enough to structure your own work to achieve business goals
- Work flexibly – you may be:
- Travelling to clients, primarily in Germany and other parts of Europe
- Working remotely (from home) with those clients
- Work closely with existing clients to develop their thinking capability and resolve key business issues
You will spend an intensive period getting to know KT’s unique and powerful approach to consulting, as well as how to generate and develop business and manage projects, giving you an excellent platform on which to develop your career within KT. The role comes with a competitive salary.
We are looking for individuals with:
- Previous business experience, preferably in the areas mentioned above
- The self-motivation to work independently, combined with the cooperative approach needed to work within changing teams
- The ability to develop trusting relationships quickly with clients and colleagues
- The desire to build business with new clients, as well as delivering to existing clients
- Intellectual curiosity
- German as a native language, with fluent business English
- An academic degree, in a technical or non-technical field

Our CRM will promote and sell training and operational improvement engagements. To do so, you will need to combine prior industry and functional experience, acquired expertise around the application of our proprietary methodology and an understanding of client business issues. We will depend on you to promote our services, establish strong relationships, develop new business and extend KT’s brand in the marketplace.
You will identify, develop and nurture strong relationships with KT’s clients. Leveraging your experience in consulting or training, you will help determine ways to apply KT’s services to your clients’ toughest problems – whether it is improving product quality, increasing operational effectiveness, or taking an enterprise approach to embed KT’s proprietary Problem Solving and Decision Making methodology. KT’s solutions work because they are research-backed and stand the test of time. KT consultants are empowered to manage the end-to-end customer relationship – from cultivating new relationships and accounts, to collaborating with internal consultants to design and negotiate win-win engagements with our clients. We are a highly collaborative organization, and you will collaborate with your colleagues in marketing, finance and consulting.
The ideal candidate will have an enthusiasm for building and maintaining successful relationships; experience with business development and first-hand knowledge in a consulting or training environment. You will develop new business and extend our brand in the marketplace. As part of the onboarding process, you will learn KT’s processes and core methodologies. Capability development extends beyond our services, including additional business development, strategic account management, and leadership skill development.

- Role model KT thinking processes
- Manage the overall business development process for new and existing accounts, build new client relationships and create strong partnerships between KT and our clients
- Introduce KT services and solutions to our clients, through meetings, RFP (Request For Proposal) responses, attend industry conferences and presentations that show how our service offerings meet client needs
- Apply account management principles and practices to ensure KT provides services that help our clients improve business performance, and create successful, long term partnerships with KT
- Develop relationships with various levels within client organizations
- Develop new clients in targeted markets
- Deliver client training, facilitation and coaching as needed
- Update sales systems that generate forecast and sales performance reports
- Leverage social media for the purpose of positioning and creating sales opportunities
Education/Qualifications
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree is essential
- Possession of an MBA or other relevant higher qualification, or progression towards obtaining such a qualification would be desirable
Experience
- Minimum 7 years working experience (experience in professional services, such as management consulting, technology consulting, or a leadership/ technical training firm is preferred but not mandatory. Experience in automotive, pharmaceutical, manufacturing or technology industries would be an added advantage)
- A leadership and business mindset, with a track record of accomplishment via promotions and recognition.
- Experience in a business development, account management or sales-oriented role (demonstrated business acumen)
Key Skills/Personal Attributes
- Japanese native
- High level verbal and written communication skills; must be able to articulate and present a complex idea or set of ideas in a simple way on paper or verbally, able to influence and persuade
- Strong interest in sales and business development activities
- Ability to take initiative, strong time management skills, ability and willingness to work on your own when necessary, you thrive in ambiguity
- Fluency in Japanese business language, both written and verbal
- Preferably fluent in English language (be able to read and understand this document)
- Aptitude for marketing and promoting Kepner-Tregoe’s services
- Able to establish professional and personal credibility with clients quickly
- Naturally comfortable engaging in conversations with various levels (e.g., worker, supervisor, officers, managers, senior management)
- Able to work in a team environment, being satisfied with the personal recognition that comes as a member of the team and not be driven by need for personal recognition at the expense of the team or the team result
- Strong listening skills
As a Digital Marketing Manager at Kepner-Tregoe, you will be responsible for developing and implementing digital marketing strategies to generate qualified business leads leveraging paid and organic digital channels globally.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Develop Lead Generation Plan for always-on and pulse moments: Create and execute a strategic plan to drive website traffic, establish clear goals, and set benchmarks to measure progress.
- Generate Monthly Reports: Provide detailed reports on the performance of our marketing campaigns, offering insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Optimize SEO and Usability: Enhance our website to improve search engine optimization (SEO) and user experience.
- Manage Creative Teams: Oversee art and copywriting professionals, including outsourcing tasks when necessary, to ensure high-quality content creation.
- Analyze Key Metrics: Monitor and analyze key metrics to align leads generated with our weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual business objectives.
- Collaborate with Sales and Client Services: Work closely with the business development team and client services to leverage brand awareness generated from existing and future efforts to drive leads and increased sales across our entire portfolio of products and services.
- Leadership Communication: Maintain regular communication with the leadership team to align digital marketing initiatives with overall business goals.
- Facilitate Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements within the marketing department to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience
- Proven experience as a Digital Marketing Manager or similar role
- Experience executing and optimizing digital media campaigns inclusive of paid search, digital display / video and connected TV
- Strong understanding of SEO (Semrush), AWS, Google Analytics (GA4), and heatmaps/behavior analysis tools (Hotjar)
- Strong experience with email marketing (Constant Contact, Mailchimp etc.)
- Experience with marketing automation platforms such as Hubspot, Zoho, Pardot (Salesforce Account Engagement) etc.
- Experience with A/B testing and optimizing marketing strategies
- Experience building and managing websites on WordPress
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Kepner-Tregoe (KT) is headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey. This is a full-time position which can be remote or local at our office. The position does require travel from time to time and reports to Kepner-Tregoe’s Vice President of Global Growth, Client Services and Marketing.
