Clear Thinking Survey Results

As part of Kepner-Tregoe’s recent relaunch of our company vision and website, we wanted to validate our understanding of Clear Thinking in today’s business environment. So, we developed a survey and invited companies from around the world to participate. Based on our 50+ years in business, our hypothesis was that there would be a lot of room for improvement.

This was confirmed by the survey results. A majority (57 percent) of the 100+ companies surveyed said that they said that they “infrequently” or “never” used a formal process to address significant business issues. Additionally, 52 percent of respondents said that ownership for resolving significant business issues inside their organization was not “clearly defined or accepted.” In our experience, when everyone inside the organization, from the C-Suite to the shop floor, has clearly set processes and roles, it can have significant impact to business outcomes including higher productivity and quality as well as lower operational costs.

The impact of Clear Thinking is also evident in our survey results. We found that Kepner-Tregoe’s customers are 22 percent more likely to empower mid-level managers and below to make critical decisions and are 71 percent more likely to have clearly-defined roles for issue resolution inside their organization. These types of results are having a measurable impact on the bottom line of businesses. Take a look around our website and especially our library of customer success stories to learn more.
