Consultant

Consultants, having developed themselves through education and several job experiences, act as project manager on client engagements. Few people join KT as Consultants as so much of the value we bring to clients is through the application of our rational processes. At this stage, Consultants spend more time on thought leadership activities in order to develop the foundation for a personal brand - an expertise for which they will be known - both within our organization and externally to KT.

What you can expect as a Consultant…

  • Travel – At this level, Consultants may be required to be at a client site for weeks, or perhaps months at a time. Sometimes, due to their specific skills or knowledge, Consultants may be required to move rapidly between client engagements. This is especially true of our subject matter experts.
  • Responsibility – They assume primary responsibility for structuring the solution-development process, assigning work, coaching team members, and managing day-to-day interactions with clients. Consultants are also responsible for recognizing and surfacing business needs during engagements which KT may be able to address. The management of day-to-day client relationships during project delivery is an essential element of the Consultant's focus. Consultants learn how to best leverage KT's resources to achieve client results and references at the project level.
  • Background – Having developed an understanding of KT’s rational processes, Consultants build on their knowledge of KT's core and supporting technologies and on their knowledge of KT applications so that they become "operations capable" - able to meet a client's need through the configuration of KT technologies on-site at a client.
  • Rewards - Consultants take their understanding of KT's core and supporting technologies to ever-deeper levels and combine their subject matter expertise (derived from past jobs and past project experience) with that knowledge to develop new applications (or adaptations of existing applications) to best meet client needs. Consultants are perceived by clients as valued resources.
